![]() Their running sandals allow our girls to dash in and out of skirmish range quickly and safely or escape a legionary charge in the nick of time. Sacrificing armor for quickness, the younglings wear simple tunics offering little protection against enemy swords and arrows. Though they wield their swords and shields with gusto, their lack of armor makes them extremely vulnerable to enemy melee units. Most effective against unarmored foes, our trainees can still effectively suppress their enemy’s heavy troops when deployed properly. Armed with a sling, shield, and short sword, they harry the enemy with sling stones, whittling their numbers down for the heavier units. The younglings are warriors in training, relegated to skirmish roles until they prove themselves. I’ve got kind of a mediocre graphics card, so I apologize in advance for the graphics quality in some of the screen captures.Įvery Amazon has to start somewhere. Since I don’t have time or space to show every awesome unit type from Shannon’s mod, I’ll try to cover some of the more interesting ones. The uniform blue-and-aqua coloration gives these Amazons a disciplined, highly militarized feel, offering a refreshing contrast to the doll-faced, boob-plated portrayals we often see in popular media. I like that instead of trying too hard to be historically accurate, Shannon went with a stylized, Greco/Roman feel for her lady warriors. ![]() The unit selection is impressive, with diverse light, medium, heavy, and skirmisher infantry as well as some decent heavy, medium, and ranged cavalry units. ![]() While Amazonian mods for the Total War games are hardly a new idea, I feel like Shannon’s design shows more integrity than any attempt I’ve seen in the past.Īs I mentioned, the Amazon faction takes the place of Pontus in the campaign. Apparently Shannon, the mod developer, went nuts with the DoM chipsets and designed a full-fledged Amazon faction that replaces the Pontic faction on the main campaign map. It’s called the Empire of Amazonia, a Faction Units mod from the Daughters of Mars DLC. I stumbled across an interesting mod for Total War: Rome 2 from their Steam Workshops. I do not plan on updating this particular mod once Immortal Empires drops, as that should return the situation with these factions to how it was in Warhammer 2.Amazon Hoplites versus Spartan Hoplites, from the Empire of Amazonia, by Shannon Weakened Major Factions by me (removes the potential system buffs that major Warhammer 3 factions get in the Realm of Chaos Campaign).Return of Great Empires by SDC (adjusts Warhammer 1 and Warhammer 2 main factions in the Realm of Chaos campaign to utilise the new potential system).Less AI Cheating by Volcano (reduces attrition resistance, recruitment spam, growth and other modifiers and bonuses to a lower level).Anti-Player Bias Remover by me (sets the anti-player AI targeting priorities to the same as their regular targeting priorities and adjusts player threat rating to stop the AI getting tunnel vision).Using both these mods together will remove the debuffs to the aforementioned minor factions (my mod) whilst buffing the major Warhammer 1 and Warhammer 2 factions so they can compete with the major Warhammer 3 ones (SDC’s mod). This mod is compatible with Return of Great Empires by SDC. Note: This mod alters the cai_personality_faction_potential_modifiers table, and thus may not be compatible with other mods which do the same. It will, however, turn them into greater threats and give them a chance against the major Warhammer 3 factions (in this campaign). This not a balance mod, so expect AI factions to perform better according to their level of cheats, autoresolve chances and general RNG. This mod removes the faction potential system debuffs that minor Warhammer 1, Warhammer 2 and minor Cathay/Kislev/Ogre factions get in the Realm of Chaos campaign, for a more sandbox campaign experience.
